Spending the holidays at work isn’t anyone’s favorite way to celebrate, but this is especially true when work takes you on the road and far away from your friends and family. Truckers all over the world are making sure your packages are delivered on time instead of celebrating at home with their loved ones. We know it can be hard, so we want to share a few ideas on how to make spending the holidays on the road just a little bit easier for truck drivers.

Don’t let the calendar control your festivities!
Just because Christmas falls on the 25th of December and New years falls on the 31st, doesn’t mean that’s when you HAVE to celebrate! If you’re not home on a day you usually celebrate a holiday on, celebrate when you are instead! We all know that the most important part of the holidays is spending time with your loved ones, so just because you’re not home on a certain date doesn’t mean you have to miss out on spending time with your family.

Make use of today’s technology!
Social media and modern technology can make being at the table from thousands of miles away possible. Zoom, Skype, Facetime, and other live video chatting options can take you from the cab of your truck to the head of the table in seconds.

Find some company on the road!
Spending the holidays on the road can feel lonely, but trust us, you’re not the only driver out there on the road or at the truck stop. Instead of dining alone, make friends with the other drivers and share a meal or conversation. A little kindness can go a long way, especially during the holidays.
